Abdeluheb Choho, Deputy Mayor for Sustainability, Amsterdam
Abdeluheb Choho has spent his career working in diverse management positions in the private sector before he started as alderperson (D66) in a the Amsterdam West city district and now serves as a deputy mayor for Sustainability.
As a deputy mayor he has recently taken the major decision to stop providing natural gas for heating Amsterdam. During his term, he has set up the Sustainability Agenda for Amsterdam to carry out programs for realizing midterm goals and actions in five fields (sustainable energy, circular economy, air quality, climate adaptation and the municipal organization).
Abdeluheb Choho is motivated by preventing the “implementation gap” of the climate and energy transition.
