Be part of EU Green Week
During this year’s EU Green Week discover the potential for European environmental policy to create green jobs. Sign up for the Brussels conference or take part in partner events across Europe.
This year, EU Green Week will take place from 29 May to 2 June. The theme for 2017 is ‘Green jobs for a greener future’, focusing on how EU environmental policies are creating green jobs and contributing to economic, sustainable and socially responsible growth. The event will also highlight the demand for new green skills in many professional sectors.
At the heart of the week is a high-level conference in Brussels on 30 and 31 May. Register to join the debate with policymakers, leading environmentalists and stakeholders on employment opportunities in the circular economy. The first day will end with a Green Awards ceremony, rewarding projects funded by LIFE – the EU’s funding instrument for the environment – for contributions to Europe’s natural environment and to green jobs and growth.
Other events in Brussels, Malta and 2017 European Green Capital Essen complete the week’s activities. In May and June, Green Week partner events, ranging from conferences to grass-roots activities, will help support green, sustainable growth. You can either attend an event or organise your own and submit it via the Green Week website (deadline 15 April). If you are already creating green employment, you can also post jobs on the Green Week website.
For example, a Green Week partner event promoting energy-saving or renewables could also be submitted as an Energy Day to reach an even wider audience. To focus on innovation for green energy, attend the 2017 EUSEW Policy Conference in Brussels from 20 to 22 June, where policymakers and other stakeholders will debate best practices for promoting clean, secure energy and forge new alliances during the conference’s networking events.
