Access to Energy
Ensuring universal access to modern energy services is one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals to be achieved by 2030.
Enel, as a member of the Global Compact LEAD of the United Nations, launched the “ENabling ELectricity” program in 2011, with the aim of creating a new business model linked to access to energy, for people who live in isolated rural areas and those who live in areas around the major urban agglomerates. The program has involved over 2.5 million people worldwide so far.
Starting from Enel’s experience in this field, this workshop will give the participants the opportunity to discuss sustainability - in energy and social terms- as well as innovation as an essential lever to new business approaches and new technological solutions to meet the energy needs of developing countries.
Representatives from the UN, EU institutions, private sectors and civil society will debate their point of view in an informal panel discussion followed by a cocktail reception.
