Bioarchitettura: Waste material ZEMPH

The irreversible impairment of a large part of the coastline and awareness of the exhaustion of environmental resources has led to a careful assessment of ecosystems and how to safeguard them. The environment in the Mediterranean islands has undergone profound changes that have a heavy negative impact on the environmental change. In particular, the location of industrial poles such as Priolo Gargallo has led to a general deterioration of the environment and considerable risk to the health of citizens.

The INBAR Syracuse commitment to building a "Passive House," the ZEMPH (Zero Emission Mediterranean Passive House) in Priolo, with the collaboration of the City Council, will seek to combine technological progress with the need to define its impact on the environment.  The project aims to provide guidance to the European Commission in examining the barriers and solutions to bringing about wider intervention in energy efficiency in buildings in the Mediterranean.
