Considering design options for the electricity market post-2020 (Market4RES)
This event is organised in the framework of the EU-funded project Market4RES, which investigates the potential evolution of the current design of the electricity market, the so-called Target Model, in a way that allows the sustainable integration of large amounts of renewable sources.
Preliminary results of the project will be presented and relevant stakeholders –such as policy makers, regulators, system operators, industry and academia – will discuss the most adequate design options for the European electricity market in the post-2020 period, with a large share of renewables.
The final goal of Market4RES is to deliver guidelines for policy makers in the implementation of electricity market design. This is extremely relevant and timely, considering that the European Commission will propose legislative reforms on the electricity sector toward the end of 2016.
