Opportunities for small wind turbines in urban areas
Small scale wind energy has significant potential in urban, suburban and industrial areas, but numerous challenges currently stand in the way of wide-scale uptake of this decentralised energy resource.
At the conference, 'Opportunities for small wind turbines in urban areas' organised in the framework of the European SWIP project, you will hear about the latest technological developments in small wind turbines and their potential for use in urban areas, taking account of aesthetic impact, noise, vibration and safety issues, social awareness and acceptance, and regulatory and commercial limitations.
Alongside presentations from the project partners, the conference will include an opening speech from Ignacio Cruz, from IEA Wind Task 27 on Small Wind Turbines, and will conclude with a moderated discussion and networking reception. See the full agenda here.
