Public Private Partnerships: An opportunity for energy optimisation of a smart community
The conference focuses on improving the energy efficiency of public administrations' buildings and technological plants through public private partnerships (PPP).
Improving energy efficiency is widely considered as the most promising, fastest, cheapest and safest means to mitigate climate change. On April 18, 2016, the Italian Government definitively approved LD no. 50, implementing Directives 2014/23/EU, 2014/24/EU and 2014/25/EU of the EP and EC of 26 February 2014 “on public procurement and awarding concession contracts, procurement by entities operating in the water, energy, transport and postal services sectors and on the reorganisation of the Public Procurement Regulation” (New Italian Public Procurement Code).
Therefore, this workshop aims to provide guidance to public administrations on how to set up PPP initiatives for improving the energy efficiency of their buildings and plants, including public lighting systems.
