Sustainable Energy Day in Tbilisi City
This event presents the project “Warm Elderly – Energy Efficiency Measures for Tbilisi Elders Boarding House”.
The project was implemented by the Energy Efficiency Center Georgia, with co-financing from: BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Ltd. within the “Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency New Project”, Tbilisi City Hall, the State Fund for Protection and Assistance of Victims of Human Trafficking and USAID/Winrock within its Enhancing Capacity for Low Emission Development Strategies (EC-LEDS) Clean Energy Program.
The project demonstrates the deployment of energy efficient and renewable energy solutions, including: an autonomous heating and hot water supply system based on natural gas combined with a solar thermal system, an energy efficiency upgrade of the most vulnerable areas of the building envelope and replacement of incandescent light bulbs with LED bulbs. Along with their technical and economic benefits, the implemented measures will mitigate climate change impacts.
