Workshop: Energy efficiency in rural areas
The workshops will take place in Belin, Moieciu, and Vama Buzaului (Centru Region, Romania).
Energy efficiency is a particular concern for rural areas, given that homes and buildings are generally older, use inefficient fuels and have lower energy performance. Rural communities face major energy challenges in this respect.
Awareness and education of the public on the energy efficiency of buildings and utilities in rural areas is particularly important.
Norwegian experts will share their experience in energy efficiency and will encourage local authorities to formulate feasible ideas for improved energy efficiency in public infrastructures.
The series of workshops are being organised in partnership with Norsk Energi from Norway, within the framework of the project ”Exchange of experience in the field of energy efficiency in rural areas”. This project is being financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014, under the Fund for Bilateral Relations at the level of RO05 – Energy efficiency.
