New ways of empowering consumers for the energy transition

Consumers are the real drivers of the energy transition. They can purchase highly energy efficient equipment, build net-zero energy houses and participate in decentralised renewable energy production. With this power in their hands, consumers can become fully involved in the energy system and effectively start the energy transition.
However, consumers often need accessible tools and tailored solutions that will help them to fully exercise their contributions as enlightened energy prosumers. This panel discussion illustrates how innovative tools and solutions can help consumers participate and drive forward the energy transition.
It brings together creative minds from H2020 projects, which present their innovative solutions. These cover digital tools helping consumers to purchase the highest energy efficient appliances on the market, net-zero energy refurbishment solutions that can fundamentally change housing markets in the coming years, new ICT solutions encouraging and enabling the active participation of prosumers in local energy exchanges, and the concept of integral user-centred frameworks that could accelerate the implementation of efficient energy feedback programmes in the future.
The panel is complemented by the European consumer organisation, representing the voice of consumers.
