Vesna Bukarica received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. She finished her doctoral (Ph.D.) studies in 2013 at the same faculty, in cooperation with Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim. Her scientific, research and expert work is dedicated to the development of sustainable energy policies, especially policy instruments for promoting energy efficiency, and evaluation of their multiple impacts.
Through 15 years of her professional carrier, she has been involved in many energy policy projects in Croatia and in the Western Balkans region conducted for the relevant authorities and/or international institutions (UNDP, GIZ, EBRD). She worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant at UNIZG-FER until 2013. From September 2013 till September 2016 she was Head of Energy Efficiency Sector in Croatian Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, leading a team of 40 engineers.
