Demonstrating the Pathway to a Decarbonised Hydrogen Heat Network
Hydrogen is considered to be one of the credible options of alternative fuels that can support the reduction of carbon output in the energy system. As an alternative fuel it has the potential to help the industry meet the 2050 UK carbon target set out by the government. This event will provide an opportunity for academia and industry to meet and discuss the role that hydrogen can have in decarbonising the gas network.
Currently there is research and discussion across academia and industry into how this fuel can be introduced into the system including production, distribution and storage, and the impact on the end user and their appliances. Speakers at this event include:
- Professor R. Stuart Haszeldine OBE, BSc (Edin), PhD (Strath), CGeol, FRSE
- Mark Wheeldon, Innovation and New Technology Project Manager at SGN
This event will also enable attendees to network with colleagues from across industry and academia, to hear about the latest projects aimed at decarbonising the gas network.
