Energy Observer – first electric vessel powered by renewables and hydrogen

Energy Observer is the first electric vessel around the world powered by renewables and hydrogen, with zero greenhouse gas emissions or fine particles. It is the first boat in the world able to produce its own carbon-free hydrogen, through electrolysis of seawater. The scientific and technological challenge is to test, in extreme conditions, these pioneering technologies, which will foreshadow tomorrow’s energy networks, applicable on land. Energy Observer is currently carrying out its six-year Odyssey for the future (2017-2022), with 50 countries and 101 stopovers to raise the public’s awareness of the ecological transition by highlighting major themes, via social media and a documentary series. This world tour is led by Victorien Erussard, founder and captain, and Jérôme Delafosse, expedition leader and documentary director.
