Lessons from the ground: what ticks with consumers on renewables?
An energy transition is underway in Europe. Renewables are increasingly being injected into our energy system and are being produced in part by residential consumers. But how easy is it for these early adopters to install and start using these solar panels? When does it pay off and what barriers are there for further take-up?
This is the story of the energy transition on the ground. BEUC and consumer groups from around Europe are currently participating in an EU-funded project CLEAR 2.0 which provides support and advice to consumers interested in using renewable energy technology on their premises. Come and hear what they have already learnt in the first edition of the CLEAR project and what they believe needs to change to create a real energy transition by consumers and for consumers. We will also explore the potential of storage and hear about lessons learnt from STORY project.
The session will be moderated by Dave Keating.
