Nigel Holmes

Nigel is Chief Executive of the Scottish Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association. SHFCA is widely recognised as one of the most proactive hydrogen & fuel cell industry associations in Europe, and Scotland is a leading location for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell deployments into developing low carbon energy systems.

Scotland hosts the world’s most intensively used fleet of hydrogen buses in Aberdeen, with Europe’s most reliable large scale hydrogen refuelling station. The Orkney Islands of Scotland are home to the BIG HIT project, which is a leading exemplar for the Hydrogen Valleys approach. Both of these projects were made possible through the financial support from the FCH JU public-private partnership.

Nigel sits on the Renewable Industry Advisory Group, is a steering group member for the Scottish Transport Emissions Partnership, and recently co-chaired one of the National Transport Strategy review working groups
