Marina Varvesi is responsible for the innovation and research area within AISFOR. She coordinates the European H2020 project ASSIST (grant number 754051) to create a network of household energy advisors (HEA) specifically trained to support vulnerable consumers and to design and carry out an action by the HEAs to tackle energy poverty. She has also managed within AISFOR other European projects to tackle energy poverty, such as the SMART-UP project (grant number 649669), and actively participates in European events to discuss the social phenomena and propose solutions.
Marina has 15+ years of experience in coordinating and working in international teams for knowledge building and sharing, networking, training, awareness raising, and dissemination activities. Following a university degree in Chemistry, she specialized in the development and management of national, European, and international initiatives in scientific fields (from life sciences to energy efficiency). For the last few years she has been focusing on the issue of energy poverty.
