Britt Verhesen holds a Masters degree in Economics (finance) from the KU Leuven and a postgraduate degree in Facility Management from the Katholieke Hogeschool ‘Sint-Lieven’ in Ghent.
Britt has more than 9 years of experience as facilities and building manager at Xerius, a Belgian social security fund. She coordinated new building sites and sustainable renovations at a technical level, including energy efficiency measures.
Since the end of 2018, Britt works for the City of Antwerp at the department of Energy and Environment. Specifically, she is involved in the heating and cooling CO2 reduction strategy of the city and is also contributing to the PLANHEAT project where Antwerp serves as a validation city for the developed heat planning tool.
