Nicola Branch is an Energy Advisor with SHINE London based at Islington Council. Her current role is her second stint at Islington Council working in Energy Efficiency and Fuel Poverty. Prior to this role, and with a break of 8 years while she ran her own business carrying out energy audits in domestic properties in central London, she was a Project Officer in the Islington Energy Centre which ran the North West London Energy Advice Centre as part of the advice centres network for the Energy Savings Trust, a British organisation devoted to promoting energy efficiency, energy conservation and the sustainable use of energy. Over the past two years as well as providing energy and fuel poverty advice to residents throughout London, Nicola has built up links across the capital with a variety of organisations, and in particular Foodbanks run by both local and UK wide charities, as well as providing training for a number of multi-disciplinary teams and partners including The British Red Cross, Haringey Council Carbon Management team and Hackney Public Health Provider Forum.
Outside of work Nicola is a keen cyclist and last September completed the Land’s End to John O’Groats challenge in 9 days!
