Janica Borg is a Senior Policy Coordinator for Marine Protection and Spatial Planning for the WWF European Policy Office A graduate in marine biology and scientific diving, she started her carrier as a field researcher under the waves of the Baltic Sea. Through experiencing first-hand the dramatic and rapid changes in the environment she became concerned about the management of human pressures on the environment, and transitioned to work within policy making. She worked for several years on environmental protection in the Baltic Sea before moving to Brussels to expand her work across the EU. Currently she focuses on the challenges between marine protection and other sea uses, such as fisheries and energy development, and aims to see a common language developing between stakeholders.
