Matthijs Kok is senior policy advisor in the field of electric mobility, charging infrastructure and renewable energy with the City of Utrecht (pop. 353.000). As project manager he is responsible for public charging infrastructure in de city. Currently the city has about 1.200 public charge-point. Of these, 300 have full V2G fuctionality. Matthijs coordinates the IRIS Lighthouse project demonstration in Utrecht, where in the district Kanaleneiland 600 houses, 18 chargers, a fleet of 20 V2G shared cars, a neighbourhood battery and a 200 PV-panel solar park are integrated into one bidirectional smart energy system.
