South Korea's decarbonisation target - Europe's "lessons learnt"

The Republic of Korea (RoK) embarked on a energy transition journey: increasing its share of renewable energy from 4% today to 17% and improving energy efficiency by about 1/3 until 2030.

Building on the successful European experience in these sectors and related lessons learnt constitutes an important resource available to support RoK's endeavour.

The presentation shall contribute to mobilise European non-state actors to share their expertise and experience in energy transition policy and implementation with interested Korean partners. The EU-Korea Low Carbon Action (LCA) project established a  bi-lingual and interactive on-line exchange and cooperation platform enabling matching European and Korean participants' offers and demands as well as facilitating their collaboration in reducing GHG emissions.

Occasions to engage with Korean partners will be explained, discussed and encouraged, including projecting the project's cofunding, technical assistance and facilitation opportunities offered. The presentation will be announced on the LCA website (, which offers the option to register their interests and to engage to intersted actors.  Please visit the project's page and register to receive updates on the projects activities.
