Unlocking the potential of energy efficiency for industry

The session presents policy priorities and joint work at EU level on energy efficiency, as well as specific examples on overcoming some of the barriers.

The panel includes five Directorates General of the European Commission that work together to make the clean energy transition happen for the industry. The services will present the current state of play of policy planning.

The industry is in the focus with the TASIO project on new technologies and the Q&A allows sharing detail on the work on the ground that brings daily energy savings and greater penetration of renewables in the most cost-efficient way.

At the end of this session, sectoral roundtables with the industry are launched with the aim of identifying common barriers and to share best practice on energy efficiency and renewable energy. This action is a follow-up to the Heating and Cooling Strategy that the Commission adopted in February 2016.
